Health, especially that of our children, is an important issue for all of us. In the case of a long-lasting illness or recovery, children may find themselves in unknown circumstances, painfully separated from their family and friends for weeks or even months. Many organisations today are able to help make their time spent in hospital happier. Their initiatives not only cheer up those in hospital, but are also efficient in facilitating recovery.

This support programme is aimed for non-profit-making organisations with adventure and arts therapy activities for promoting psycho-social rehabilitation of chronically ill and recovering children or physically or mentally handicapped children.

The organisations by their extraordinary work can help children to better struggle mental and physical stress caused by the hospital residence period. Therapies serve the development for mentally and physically handicapped children that is a daily need lifelong and can raise the life quality for themselves and for their families. These therapeutical programmes can become part of the primer prevention in case of children and youngsters considered as risk group from the point of view of mental hygiene.

After a pre-selection of projects, a jury will express his opinion. Final decision will be taken by the board of the New Europe Foundation till the middle of September 2017.

In 2016, altogether 37 NGOs received in an amount of 47,8 Million HUF financial support.

As initiatives among the supported projects, Ágacska (Branch) Foundation organizes psychodrama group for adopted children, and the Őrzők (Guardians) Charitable Foundation operating in the Children's Clinic of Tűzoltó utca.
